A good amount of these players that leave early are dads, and you can't raise a family on scholarship money.

And that is what is wrong with America these days. I'm gonna make a thread in the off-topic about my ideas for birth control.

Okay, well, then for each player that has kids to support, there is another one that needs the money to get his family out of the bad area they came from. Seriously you can go back and finish your degree while your playing, hell, your bonus would cover all of your college expenses and what not.

Yeah maybe you would but do you think these kids will ever go back once they start living it up so to speak. I seriously doubt it. I agree with you about getting your family out of a bad area but if your banking on an NFL career to do that for you, you might be in some serious trouble if it doesn't pan out and statiscally speaking it usually doesn't.

Yeah, but you still get a nice chunk of change regardless. Hell, I don't know the actual stats, but I'd venture to say that the average draftee gets around a mil of signing bonus. Enough to set aside a ton of money to keep care of your family, and put yourself through a year of college, minimum.

For those who aren't watching Tulsa beat the living shit out of Blowing Green (what's wrong with you? ) Aqib Talib, corner out of Kansas, is going to come out.

Uh, he hasn't officially declared, but anyone who thinks Vernon Gholston will be back next year in Scarlet and Gray needs to have their head examined.

Martellus Bennett is leaving a year early, TE for A&M. Should go number 1 or 2 tight end in the draft in probably the late 2nd or early 3rd round but could've been a first rounder if he waited it out and gave Shermans pro style offense a go.

There's probably going to be a couple, maybe three TE's off the board already by the late 2nd-early 3rd. But I agree, I don't think he played in an offense his first couple of seasons that would showcase what he can do. His potential is through the roof, but hasn't had the production to match the hype yet.

kinda off topic but I was watching the International Bowl which Rutgers was in and Ray Rice's mom was there. Seriously the woman is like a beach ball with limbs. She was standing next to Rice (who is 5'9 on a good day) and was a good foot short than him. Making her 4'8" at the most. However she had to be 250 at least. She's built like a bowling ball.

His potential is through the roof, but hasn't had the production to match the hype yet. Most drafts I've seen have him as the 2nd and maybe 3rd tight end taken. He doesn't have the stats because we never throw the ball but he has temendous athletic ability (played basketball for gillispie) and hes absolutely huge. Example: youtube.com/watch?v=_xbmryFFOkgHe is one of the best blocking tight ends in college football too. If you find some clips of him he often pancakes his man or completely pushes them out of bounds almost effortlessly. Coffman and Rucker (I think those are their names) are more receiving type tight ends that could end up playing as big receivers in the NFL.

Jim Tressel thinks that Gholston and Laurinatis are gone but it was just his opinion, no facts.

If I was a betting man on this, I'd say Gholston is gone, but Laurinaitis comes back.
