Winthrop and Davidson win. All I really wanted. Winthrop has a chance to go deep this year. I mean they had it last year except that dude got away with a travel at the end. The Eagles are one hell of a dangerous team.
Oh yeah get those damn videos out of your sig. MAJOR slowdown.

Belmont won big yesterday and if they shoot that good in the tourney, they could upset a few teams. Oakland plays the winner of Valpo/UMKC Monday, go Griz!
Michigan, words can't express my frustration for that entire team. When Amaker ripped his jacket off and started his little tantrum, I wanted to hit him.

I'm very angry now cause I realized I'll be missing 3 of the 4 best sports days of the year - the first Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of March Madness - cause I'll be on choir tour. My school sucks.
I'll just need my bracket and cell phone I guess. But yeah. This angers me.

They aren't going to get rid of him with Alex Legion. His wife is also a DEAN at the school, so that might also be a problem. Personally, that is the only time I have seen Amaker that way. Amaker always seems down to Earth and I have never seen him get in anyone's face. Except Courtney Sims of course, I didn't see if he did after that missed dunk either. Luckily he's a senior so you don't have to suffer through him again.

So Creighton wins the MVC. Both of the teams that played today are basically in though.
South Alabama lost in the opening round of the Sun Belt, so no repeat run to the NCAAs. Drexel is down by more than 10 in the CAA semis, which would be bad news for the teams on the bubble. *Edit* Won't make a big difference actually, as VCU has quietly racked up a very good season.
Alabama got crushed today, making them the 5th seed in the SEC West. They'll be NIT bound. Next week is going to be fun fellas, it's like March Madness light.

Nice to see Creighton back in the tourney. They struggled last year with injuries and played really well at times this year. Silukis should still be a Top-6 seed. Anyone watching UNC-Duke. Good game, UNC up 10 at the moment.

Go Not Duke.
Creighton was gonna make it anyway, weren't they? They're talking about up to 4 bids for the MVC this year. Good for them.

Yeah, I think you're right DB. The MVC should get atleast 4 with SIU, Creighton, Missouri State and Bradley.

Bradley's a bubble team. They're in trouble right now.
SIU is in, Creighton's in, and Mo State should be in.

Wouldn't you know it? Underdog 5th seed George Mason is kicking 2 seed Old Dominion's butt in the CAA Semifinal. Wouldn't that be something?

I've been trying to catch most of the Championship games. I've gotta get caught up on my college bball so I can take my Dad's office pool for the third time in 6 years.
O yeah, #1 seed Vermont is playing on Saturday for the America East Championship. Should be a good game against the defending champion and #2 seed Albany.

They'll have to deal with top seeded VCU in the CAA Final tomorrow night (assuming GMU hangs on to their 18 point lead right now) and if they win that they'll be a candidate for the play-in game or a 16 seed.

Yay for George Mason! I thought they'd lose to Hofstra in the 2nd round of the tourney for sure but to my surprise they won. I guess they believe they can make a run and surprise everyone again just like last season.
However, this match against VCU will not be easy. It's pretty much home court advantage for VCU and they spanked Mason twice this season- still im going to catch the game (its on ESPN) and cheer on my Patriots.
BTW, my friend goes to VCU so whoever wins has bragging rights ;D

GMU really has played great since the tourney started. VCU looks pretty solid but it was a good run for them either way.

I don't think Missouri State should be in. They probably will get in, but they have just one quality win, and it was on a neutral floor. Then they get killed by Creighton.
Winning seven of ten to finish the year gets them in, but IMO there are more deserving teams.

It would be huge for George Mason's program to atleast make the tourney this year. If they dont, their shot at pulling in some big recruits for the future and becoming a mid-major such as Gonzaga will probably go to waste.

If they dont make it this year, next year they have a strong chance. Will Thomas and Folorain Campbell(two key players from the final four team) will be seniors, guard Dre Smith will develope into a star for GMU as a junior, and everyone else will have experience under their belt. Off the top of my head, they have two seniors on the team right now.

I think they had to beat #1 seed Pepperdine to make the dance (I remember watching that game somehow). It would be huge for GMU to make it back, even if they probably will next year. It'll show recruits that they just aren't a flash in the pan. Three Confrerence Championship games tonight: GMU vs VCU (7 pm on ESPN)CAA Title Siena vs Niagara (9 pm on ESPN 2) MAAC Title Santa Clara vs Gonzaga (9 pm on ESPN) WCC Title Good night of mid major basketball.
