Yeah there's no point letting Schaub just sit on the bench as insurance. They need to commit to one of them and get something for the other while they still have value...

There were a few reports a few days ago that the Giants were interested in Marty Mornhinweg. I highly doubt that the Eagles would ever let their offensive coordinator/assistant head coach go to a division rival. Well you should.....he would set that franchise back YEARS.

Does anyone else think NFL teams get rid of coaches too quickly? I know it's an up and down league with the cap, but these guys need a chance to get something going. John Fox took the Panthers to the Super Bowl 2 years ago...the Panthers have still been a threat to do well since then, they just couldn't get it together this year. Give them a chance next year.
Crennel needs 1 more year, he's only been with Cleveland for two if I am correct. The Browns were horrendous when he took over...however, in my opinion, they have too many missing pieces, he's probably done next year too.
Why Mora got fired, I have no idea. Vick needs to get his s*** together....he had a great rushing season, but he can't pass for over 3000. I will give him some slack, though, his receivers suck. There is no excuse to have two number 1 picks (Jenkins, White) at wideout develop so poorly, as well as a big money trade/signing (Price) flame out. That's on the front office. Trade Schaub, too, while you still can, instead of just letting him rot on the bench.
Why recycle Sherman in Arizona? If I recall, he was not a good playcaller in Green Bay. That seems like a cheesy candidate. Might as well throw Chow in there, and see if he can make some magic with Leinart. I'm still surprised Dennis Green couldn't get it going though, I thought he'd be the guy to make the Cards good. They certainly have the offensive firepower.
Morhinweg in New York? HAH! Just let Coughlin stay put.

Everyone in the NFL wants a coach that comes in and takes a shipwreck and just turn it around. Problem there is even if the coach does that in the first year, any season after that that does not live up to the hype, everyone will call for his head. If the Eagles would not have turned it around, I think Andy Reid would have lost his job. The man who took this team from pure crap and turned it around.

Just let Coughlin stay put. There's no reason to and they better not. That's all I have to say about it...

So as of now, we have the Falcons, Dolphins, and Cardinals jobs open. The question is, who is the next to get fired, and who is going to fill these positions?

I'd like to see Chow in Arizona with those offensive weapons. This is his chance to work with Leinart again, after not getting that chance this year.
I think Denny Green will find a home. He's too good of a coach not to.
There's also speculation that Jim Bates, who interimed after Wannstedt was fired in the middle of the '04 season, could fill the hole there (in Miami). As for assistants that could make their mark, what about Donnie Henderson? I thought he was a pretty hot commodity after last season.

Albeit very little, there has been some talk on the radio and on t.v. about Belichick going to NY. Not because NE wants to get rid of him, but because if there were such a thing as a dream job in the NFL, his would be the NY Giants. Doubt'll happen, but then again, I wouldn't be utterly shocked.

I think Dennis Green could do wonders in Miami with Daunte Cullpepper and Ronnie Brown. He's got his Randy Moss in Chris Chambers, and a Defense that is leagues better thann Arizona. I would not be suprised if that's brought up.
I think you will hear more coaching changes with cordinators this year rather than head coaches.

You would think Rivera from the Bears would be a canidate after several impressive seasons for Chicagos defense. Atleast on Arizona who have no defense. I cant think of any College coaches who will leave school for the NFL or are qualified.

That's the worst thing that Billichek could do to his career. He wasn't the greatest coach in Cleveland and proved in New England that anythings possible if your players beleive in you. The Giants, like every team from New York, gets to much media publicity. The media shooves microphones in these players faces and eventually they all crack.
What he has in New England is exactly right for how he coaches. He's atleast a bid to the Hall of Fame now, he wont burn his bridge.

Cowher wont retire... He'll let us know what year will be his last year. If it's next year, he'll inform us this off-season. He's not the "high and dry" type of coach. If Saban does take the Alabama job, that would upset me that he lied to everyone. I think if you coach at LSU, you cant go to Alabama. There's something about playing in the same conference that every team should have a bit of pride in. Cowher to retire....Pittsburgh calls a Friday news conference. EDIT: Wow N2S....you need to stop saying which coaches are safe. Art Shell fired.

I would have lost alot of money if I betted huh? I jest expected Cowher to not up-and-leave. Oh well.
Art Shell was a wonderful coach and still has that. Al Davis hated himself for firing himself the first time and gave him a second chance. He released their best Linebacker in Danny Clark because he was a problem child. I think he was rebuilding the team and I couldnt have imagined Al Davis making such an imature judgement and decisision on him.
If Ryan becomes head coach I will kill myself...
I dont want Wisenhunt, I dont want Sherman, I dont want Ryan, I dont want Cameron. I can only pray they hire either Rivera or a college coach. Maybe an unknown assistant from somewhere.

I'm surprised Al Davis let go of Shell in the first place.

There's some stat on the Raiders rarely (if ever) hiring head coaches to be their head coaches. They usually go for the coordinators, like Norv Turner. The Raiders need a good GM before they should even go coach hunting.

I think Whisenhunt would be a good fit in Miami. A lot of the pieces are in place on offense, and their defense is aging, but still potent.
All they need is a quarterback. Culpepper is uncertain, Harrington's a career-backup, and even though Lemon did nice in spot duty, isn't an NFL-caliber starting signal-caller.

I was listening to ESPN radio today and they were saying don't count out Parcells and Carroll(sp?) for the Miami job. Parcells may be out of Dallas if TO stays, and Carroll said that he hasn't closed the door on the NFL just yet.
Plus Parcells is friends with the Miami GM or owner... or something like that, and Carroll wants to have more control of the team if he goes back to the NFL, one thing that the Miami owner would give him.

I think when it comes down to it.... Carroll would realize he is sitting on a gem in USC. He could become a college hall of fame coach if he stays in USC and they keep recruiting. He's got the west coast on lock.
Unless he feels "Unaccomplished" with USC, I cant imagine him giving up the world for the Miami Dolphins.
