Some news in the NFL... Giants fired Tim Lewis in the midst of him looking for offers. the Broncos hire Jim Bates as assistant head coach and defensive assistant. Broncos hire Slowik as Defensive Coordinator. Mike Tomlin talked with Pittsburgh.
Why isn't Mike Tomlin getting more job offers? This guy is a genious at what? 34? He was a defensive assistant under Tony Dungy with Herm Edwards, Monte Kiffin, Rod Marinelli and Lovie Smith. That's quite the staff.
He turned the Vikings Defense from a show-boating(comical right?) reck to an amazing defense that could not be ran on. He's quite the coach and wouldnt be suprised if Pittsburgh passes on Grimm and Wiseguy to pick him up.

Broncos made a great hire in Bates. I thought he might go for more of the "consultant" role, but whatever works. He's the one that kept Miami afloat when they fired Wannstedt. Never heard of Slowik, though. We'll see.

He's the defensive backs coach.... he knows his stuff in that respect, but Bates will take alot of responsability on the Defensive side.

Ken Whisenhut signed with the Arizona Cardinals today.... I dont see why they took him. He didnt do anything with Ben Roethlisberger and he's a run guru. In that, how do you suppose he will do with Leinart on a team that relys heavily on the pass.
Just anything dumb mistake by the Cardinals... Does that open the door for Mike Tomlin in Pittsburgh? I hope so.

He's a good coach.... I'd like to see him in Oakland, but Pittsburghs ok. I have a passion for football, and on this level, it's for a young black defensive coordinator who goes by the name of Mike Tomlin.
It helps when he has coached in Tampa Bay under Tony Dungy, though that means nothing to a Detroit fan haha.

Cameron should do well down in Miami. And N2S, I like Tomlin too! Not to the obsessive level you have showed but he deserves a shot. Hes the Barack Obama of this Carousel, ton of talent, maybe he needs a little more expeirence....
