www.nfl.com/teams/story/NYG/10050827Droughns traded to Giants for Tim Carter? What are the browns thinking Droughns is way better than Lewis any day. I guess they are position themselves to take AD maybe? also Rhodes signs with the Raiders. Another questionable move; by both Rhodes and Oakland. Um, have you seen Reuben Droughns? He sucks. He's like Lewis, only smaller. He has poor speed and tries to be a power back. One good year here and everyone treats him like a god. He sucks.

Reuben Droughns is just like Olandis Gary, runningbacks that had good seasons in Denver only because they were in Denver. One good year in Cleveland, and now he'll just keep going downhill. Droughns doesnt even compare to what Brandon Jacobs could be for New York.

all I was saying was that they could have parlayed his past success into something better than Carter. The guy sucks. I actually agree that Droughns is horribly overrated however, IMO at this point in his career I feel he is better than Lewis. Just my opinion.

For the last time... YOU CAN'T GET FAIR VALUE FOR RUNNING BACKS
The only time it's really been done was Portis for Bailey, which the Redskins got raped for doing. Asides from that, teams realize how running backs can be found very easily. Cleveland understood that now that they have too nearly identical backs, they might as well trade the one they didn't just aquire, and if they had a minor problem in WR depth, they fixed it. Rather than take a hit on the cap, Buffalo decided to test their drafting and see if maybe they can steal some 3rd rounders. Obviously they don't have the same value as what they gave up, but if you know there's no point in keeping someone and they're exspendable, you take care of it while they're still at their peak.
And by the way, I guarantee Droughens won't start in NY...

I guess no one should be surprised that they didn't get much for McGahee.

stallworth signs with Pats, it looks like they're turning into the yankees and just taking everyone.

No they aren't. If they were turning into the Yankees, they'd offer tons of cash to all the top players.
Great signing. I like that for them.

You know, I'm not a patriots fan in the least bit, but I certainly cannot hate them. They run their organization smartly. Whereas the Yanks and Sox just splurge on the top FA's in baseball and teams in the NFL look for the "quick fix" by buying up top FA's, the Pats have been great in the draft for years, make smart FA signings that fit their team's needs and character and they adjust. They're the model for the rest of the NFL to follow.

To be honest, it doesn't really feel like Patriots' signing, but if he can stay out of trouble, Stallworth will be very useful in stretching the field with Wes Welker causing havoc underneath.

It seems like the pats are a new team this offseason normally they take unknown players and make them better then ship them of elsewhere to suck again. This year it seems as if they are spending some dough on some quality FAs and letting the chips fall where they may so to speak. I like it to a point. I just hope they dont go overboard and start becoming the Redskins.

See, there's a difference between giving Adalius Thomas a big contract as opposed to Adam Archuleta. Also, they need to replace some of the big names that have left in the past years.

Exactly. Tedy Bruschi, Vrabel, Troy Brown, etc. aren't getting any younger.

The Pats are the big winners so far this off-season, and it's not even close.

you know what I have really noticed this year? Alot of medicore players getting enormous contracts. I know, I know it happens every year but seriously has it ever been this profound? Look at C Al Johnson got 7mil when last year he was a backup that barely played. TE Vinsanthe Shiancoe (sp?) signed with the Vikes for 8.2mil next season!!!! 8.2mil for a guy wth 35 catches in 4 years wow.

I think the Stallworth signing for the Patriots is great. Sad to see him not end up in Philadelphia, but what can I do? Maybe fight Drew Rossenhaus because I feel it is his evil behind this.

Mmm...Kelly Washington. He's always good in Madden. Haven't really seen him play, but considering only $300 K are guaranteed, he is pretty much free (for the Patriots, I hope one day I can think like that with my money).
