Well this is it for the Phils. They need a win and a Stros loss to get that playoff game. I hear Oswalt is only like, .500 career against the Cubs, and he's against Greg Maddux, which 5 years ago would have sounded good. Phils got Lieber against some guy named Carrasco.
Anyway, I'm predicting a Phils win, but Houston comes back and wins, and Stros in the playoffs. No way can do the Astros lose 3 of 4 to the Cubs, especially after losing 2 of 3 before, but maybe the Cubs got the Astros number... anyways, its too bad it will get zero attention on a Sunday with the NFL...

It was so funny in Beaver Stadium. They annoucned a Phillies win and the stadium went fircken haywire. Then they announced the 3-1 win for the 'Stros and you would have though PSU was lsoing 70-0 to Minnesota.
I am terrible Phillies fan for saying this, but the Astros will win.

I am terrible Phillies fan for saying this, but the Astros will win. You're a terrible fan? I was rooting for our division rivals to make the playoffs and beat us... I pwn you in being a terrible fan. You never know though. The Mets were 2 games back with 3 to play 5 or 6 years ago, and they squeaked in...

Damn you Greg Maddux. I hope you and your stubby attire find another way in the offseason to get cursed.

If the Eagles lose too, there will be death in Philadelphia tonight.

C'mon robino! Where's the gloating? At least give us a little rundown of how you see the playoffs unfolding.
I am pretty sure you want it to be like your 'Stros dynasty, right?

I won't gloat.... not TYPICALLY my style..... am very relieved for them to be in though...and I would LOVE it to be like my dynasty - which I'm still honestly disappointed I swept through, didn't want for it to be like that.
I haven't honestly sat down and analyzed the playoffs outside of saying Astros in 4 probably and then Stl over us in.....6 maybe? The extra day allowing Pettitte to pitch game 1 is huge. Hopefully will allow for Andy-Rocket-Roy to be up for games 1-3 in the NLCS if it gets there. Haven't spent enough time to look at it all yet..... do know NLCS tickets go on sale at 9am this morning, so need to try for those.... already have tickets for the NLDS.

Let's bring this thread back. We've got a game tonight, but I feel like more people are focusing on Jimmy Rollins than actually winning the game.

Pretty good game. Rollins'streak is up to 38 and David Bell just hit a two run home run to tie the game at 3. Go Phils!

I am not completely sure about this but isn't there a record for hit streak over one season and hit streak over 2 seasons?

There's a season one and a career one. Personally, I think they both have their advantages and disadvantages, so to all those Tony Kornheisers of the baseball world that believe Rollins streak isn't as hard as Dimaggio's shame on you...

I think it's harder. Jimmy has to come in top form every night, and at the beggining of the year that's harder. I figure he'll get close, but won't be able to beat the streak.

He's never started out well in the beginning of the season and I wouldn't expect him to do it either. Our pitching is atrocious, eight walks!

Rollins is 0-3, but I don't give a damn about the streak, I WANT TO WIN A GAME!
