Yanks to last place, Wang is not the savior of the rotation, and A-Rod's hit streak is over.
I love tonight.

Wang came out of the game with two runners in scoring position... Vizcaino intentionally walked a guy (which can't be his fault) and got Harris to line out. So up to this point, Wang is really responsible for everyone on base right now... that's when Myers came in and gave up the grand slam... so Wang has 4 earned runs for the game, yet he should really have 5 seeing how Torre could have just as easily kept him in to intentionally walk Baldelli...
Tampa is actually 3rd in the league in homeruns (and they only got one), so this really should have opened the door up for the Yankees. But they let Scott Kazmir, who has until yesterday never had a good start against New York, shut them down, and then get pummeled by one of the worst bullpens in the league. Tampa Bay has the highest ERA in the league, yet the Yankees put up only 4 runs, and had their 1-5 hitters go 1/16 with 5 Ks...

I'm not as concerned about our lineup as our pitching. The lineup is going to have bad days, period. What lineup doesn't? O well I guess.
The only thing that isn't making me kill myself is the fact that it's only April. Come All-Star break, I'll be worried.

I have a riddle for you.
If the problem with your starting pitchers is that they can't go 6 innings, why do you hurry up your top prospect whose arm you're trying to protect just to go 4 and a third and ruin your pen?

Because Torre is an idiot.

Blame it all on Torre. Fine.
Just admit you have no pitchers, and it doesn't matter how long he leaves them in, they will give up runs and lose.

Proctor (who I think is actually pretty good), is going to die from overuse by June.

Well he can't really "handle" them the way he wants to if they can't do anything...
EDIT: I know this isn't the right thread, but whatever. My Cy Young Josh Beckett is 5-0...the only person 5-0 as far as I know...

Yeah you can tell it's early when Chris Ray, Houston Street and Bobby Jenks are in the tio 10 for the Cy Young race.

Well, he's one of the only Yankee relievers not to receive much work.
I was shocked when I saw Proctor in. Give the poor guy a break.
EDIT: Record is 13 in a row in 1913.

The Sox officially own Mo Rivera. The Yankees are going to need to pull some pitching out of their ass just to make the playoffs. If A-Rod wasn't going off this month, they would be around 5-16. That's harsh...

The Yankees are going to need to pull some pitching out of their ass just to make the playoffs.. Dude, it's April. Remember when you guys were doing SO sweet and leading the division and then lost 5 games in a row at the end of the year to the Yankees? A lot can happen between now and playoff time. Yes, if things don't change by say, August, then yes you will be correct. But it's freaking April. I'm not saying that the Yankees will make the playoffs, but you can't count them out after a month. It's just not fair to any team. Pitching is an issue, no doubt in my mind, but they still can make a deal and the rotation and bullpen CAN get better, they may not but they can. Rivera will calm down eventually. Like experts say, the Red Sox see him an awful lot, and pretty much know what he's got. BTW, reports out of NY say if things do not shape up, Torre could be replaced before season's end.

I never said they weren't going to make the playoffs, but I will now.
