Wings resigned Osgood and Lidstrom, but it looks like Shanahan will test the market...
Jason Arnott signs with the Predators... Kim Johnnson signs with the Wild... Bruins sign Chara and Marc Savard, which is great if your a Boston fan...

Good job Bob Clarke good job. Johnnson was one of the guys we needed to resign. Good job, the defense is now going to suffer even more. ****

I'd like Shanahan back, but the price has to be reasonable....he's going on 37 or 38 if I'm not mistaken...
Thank God they brought Lidstrom back.
I pity the B's fans. Lewis is fine regular season, but he folds like a deck of cards in a hurricane come playoff time.
Just need to get us a goalie and a gritty forward. And speed.

The Bruins need to learn to build around their featured players. They failed pretty hard with Samsonov and Thornton, although trading them wasn't the answer.

Steve Yzerman is expected to announce his retirement today. One of the game's true greats.

Steve Yzerman is expected to announce his retirement today. One of the game's true greats. That is very true. It was about time though, his body is in some rough shape. Especially his knee. Still, he is an all time great.

They talked to Dave Lewis after the news conference and he said that in his latter seasons he had to climb 15-18 stairs onto the team flight....he could barely do it and still played as hard as he possibly could that night. What a gamer.
If his #19 isn't retired by Christmas there should be a Congressional investigation.

Ah man, I'll miss Grier. We were like, tied for 1st in the league with most black people on our time, and just like that, it ended... I see we also lost Jay McKee, which probably is a bonus. I always liked him, but he's our weakest defender now...
Doug Weight signed with the Blues and Stratka resigned with the Rangers....
I'll definitely miss Yzerman. One of the best players in this era, and one of the best all time. And for the games sake, it sure was cool that he played in Hockey Town, and not in somewhere like Florida or any other non-hockey enthusiast place...

That is so true McGahee. It would not have been the same if he played elsewhere. Stevie Y, I salute you.

Roenick returns to Phoenix and Marc Denis goes to Tampa.
I always felt bad for Denis since he always put up pretty good numbers, but the Blue Jackets were just not a good team...

actually Denis was traded to T-Bay last week for Freddy Modin and some other guy. So he was just signing with his new team.

EDDIE THE EAGLE! YEAH!
I wanted him instead of Curtis Joseph a couple years ago. Eddie did a LOT better in Toronto at a cheaper price. Here's hoping he can hold us over for a couple years until Jimmy Howard fully develops.

You want Belfour? Are you crazy? Guys like Biron and Nabokov are out there, there's no need to sign Belfour. He's finished, washed up, done, over.
