My God, of course he's kidding.
Spurrier gets an extension from South Carolina through 2012 with a pay raise. You can forget about him.

Your kidding me right? Do we really have Donald Rumsfield as our new head coach? Er..........maybe I shouldn't feel as good about going to Bama if you got in.

I find it humorous that despite the Other Headlines and all....he was still in doubt.

Well I was feeling pretty stupid about that comment but you actually suplied a pretty decent looking site but anyways. Yea, heard about Spurrier today, and im not too sure about Rodriguez. Looks like Paul Johnson may be the big candidate.

I'm just ready to know who is going to be coach. Nick Saban perhaps? Well a guy can have his pipe dream, no matter how unrealistic that dream really is.

Rich Rodriguez came out and steadfastly denied that he was going anywhere. He said he wanted to stay with the Mountaineers as long as they wanted him.
'Tis the season for denials.

No one is interested, but somehow a guy who has no interest in leaving will end up at another school.

Rich Rodriguez and Mal Moore had a 90 minute meeting today. Due to that, I think all signs point to CRR as Alabama's next coach, but certainly nothing is for sure.

Sorry to triple post but, the Birmingham News is reporting that Rich Rodriguez and Alabama have agreed in principal, basically making him Alabama's new head football coach.
The basketball team on the other hand, really needs to step it up.

So....Rodriguez turned you down.
Does ANYONE want to coach the Crimson Tide? At this rate, you might HAVE to hire Rumsfeld.

Well he's a WVU alum and all, so I'm not too shocked he decided to stay.
The question is who are they going to try for next and can they at least keep a lid on it. It wouldn't be that big of a deal if the media would not have had all these reports coming out. You would think our AD would at least be able to keep a lid on these things.
Oh and Paul Finebaum is a cancer. That's all I have to add.

Looking back, I can almost pinpoint the moment Shula's career at Alabama was doomed. The date was October 1st, 2005, on a perfect day for football in Tuscaloosa. Alabama was hosting the then fifth ranked Florida Gators.
The game gets started, and Bama has their best game this decade. Going into the fourth quarter, Alabama is leading Florida 31-3. Then with 13 or some odd minutes left, Alabama goes for the final nail in the coffin. The pass is perfect, it hits Prothro right in the hands, but damn it if he didn't drop it. Then you realize why as his ankle has almost been severed from his leg on a horrific break.
The Alabama offense was never the same. This came back to bite us on the ass against LSU and Auburn (we had cupcakes all the way up to that point). We come into this season with the same offensive woes and the lack of an offensive line leads to a 6-6 season that gets the man canned. With Prothro on the field this year, Alabama is an 8-4 team due to the extra weapon. Shula is almost certainly head football coach dispite the losses to Auburn and LSU and Alabama is gearing up for the Liberty Bowl or Chick-Fil-A bowl. Instead, we're getting ready for the Independence Bowl while search for a new coach.
Pull Prothro, and none of this happens (well we can assume it does not at least).
Oh and Steve Kragthorpe for HC! Roll Tide Roll!

Anyone else see papa Shula go off on Alabama for the job they've done following half time of the Jets-Dolphins game?

Anyone else see papa Shula go off on Alabama for the job they've done following half time of the Jets-Dolphins game? "Time to start evaluating the evaluators..." No I didn't, but he's not totally wrong. Mal Moore and Robert Witt have done an awful job with the firing and coaching search that took place. If Shula had been willing to give up playcalling duities and fire one of the offensive coaches, he'd still be the coach today, keep that in mind. The problem is, the decided to fire him at 11:30 on a Sunday night. Then they go on this wild goose chase of a coaching search. If the AD could have not leaked the offer we made CRR, WVU would not have had the ability to make a deal that would keep CRR in Morgantown. Right now, I assume they are waiting on Nick Saban to say "no" for the 50th time since the coaching search began. I just hope they pick a good young coach, perhaps a Kragthore from Tulsa or even a slightly older guy like Paul Johnson at Navy. We won't get that lucky though and probably have another idiot that will run our program farther into the ground. Sad times, and I'm starting to want Mal Moore's head on a platter.

When are you fools going to hire a head coach?

Early Jan. is my best guess. It's either going to Saban (I wouldn't bet on that at all) or some lower level guy. It seems we're holding out for Saban though and it has been a disaster unless he goes to Bama.

I have a feeling its going to be an young up-and-coming coach, Kragthore out of Tulsa wouldn't be a bad choice at this point.
