As much as it pains me to say this, it's over. The Allen Iverson era in Philadelphia is over.
"We'll trade him."
Three words by Ed Snider. One powerful statement. It's over.
AI didn't play tonight versus the Wizards and won't travel with the team to Orlando. Billy King said tonight there's several deals in place and that one will probably be executed this weekend. He said AI will not be with the team from this point on. He was told to not come to the arena tonight.
Man ... I wanted to see him go at one point but I've just got a sick feeling in my stomach right now.

For his and KG's sake, I pray he goes to the T-Wolves. Those two deserve a championship together, and it's just unfortunate it that it won't be in Philly...

Timberwolves owner said he can't afford Iverson.

Well I think if maybe another team could rid themselves of every salary they could, they could trade for both Iverson and KG, and then surround them with players signed for the league minimum... or not...
I just want to see them both win a championshiop, and if they did it on the same team, it would be even sweeter...

Can't...really say I'm shocked by this, after last offseason and all.

Hmm...I say the Knicks trade their whole roster for AI and let him play by himself...he'd outscore the current Knicks, that's for sure.

I think he could go to the Celtics, Cavs, Lakers, Sonics, or Hornets. Seriously, I think the Cavs could get him. I hope they do, at least. Lol.

Iverson wants to go to the Celtics or Bulls. Also interest from the Pacers, Nuggets, and of course the Knicks. No, seriously.
No way he ends up in Cleveland.

KG and AI would be nice but they are so freaking dumb up in Minnesota it is sad. Either way, about 90% of my high school will be in some way peezed over this deal.

Of those, only Boston seems likely and perhaps the Sonics... all those other teams either have a superstar that needs his shots or in the Hornets case, are beginning to gel with the pieces they already have (not to mention AI would have to move back to the 2)... So your thinking phails...

Well, the only reason I said Cleveland was because I know that we need a starting point. Daniel Gibson is okay, but we need a more experienced scorer at that position who can also distribute, so I thought AI.

...So honestly, who would you trade for him?
Several teams need starting point guards but aren't talking about AI.

Eh, he was the first one to come to mind for me, because I know he wants to stay in the East, due to his wanting to go to Boston or Chi-Town. We'd probably trade Gooden, Pavlovic, Snow, and cash or something for him and like, a filler.

It would have to be a multi-team deal in that case, because the Sixers wouldn't touch any of that garbage...
Snow was recycled for a reason. Gooden and Pavolvic don't provide much of anything. The center situation is bad for the Sixers, but not bad enough they're ready to bring on Ilgauskas. And Larry Hughes would just be another combo SG/SF that they have too many of.

That's why Gooden and Pavlovic are playing the best basketball of both their careers right now, and Gooden holds one of the highest FG% in the league. We just want him gone because we can't afford to let Marshall and Varejao both come off the bench.

Have they ever done anything before this? No.
I'd say the Sixers are looking for a proven commodity. I wouldn't do that trade in a million years.

I wouldn't touch that trade with a ten foot pole.
Honestly, they can get something a million times better than that. He'll probably go to Boston.

Pavlovic shoots 35% from the field, and his numbers are absolutely dreadful. There are NBDL players that have more value than them right now...

Here's my list of top three teams that will trade for AI. Number one being the team that I believe that will be most likely to make the deal. #2 and #3 sound a little out there but they make some sense after you read my reason for thinking it could go down. 1. Indiana Pacers - With a backcourt of Jackson and Tinsley do I have to say anything else? The Pacers have been looking to get rid of Stephen Jackson and while Jamaal Tinsley is a decent option at PG at times he can show signs of being inconsistent. O'Neal and Harrington up front with AI in the back is pretty temping. Bird needs to make it happen. 2. Los Angeles Clippers - The Clippers have some cap to play with and, frankly, their backcourt is old and overpaid. A problem that is easily remedied in this case. Mobley is an average player at best and Cassell is good at what he does but is getting up their in years. Now we all know that Livingston is trying to become the man in the back for the Clips but so far it's been on and off and everyone would rater have AI. Just think of the team of AI and Elton Brand. The possiblites are endless. 3. Utah Jazz - (I know it sounds crazy) The Jazz also have a little of cap to play with, just not much. But with a trade, a little is enough. And the Jazz need some backcourt help with the bad play of Gordan Giricek. I mean, Giricek shouldn't even be able to play in the NBA. So if the Jazz could figure out a way to free up a little bit cap and trade some draft picks, the Jazz could be loaded. Could AI be wearing one of these jerseys soon?
