Aaron Rowand may seem like a jerk, but he's probably the best center fielder we've had in years. That's taking one for the team.

Long gone are the Doug Glanville and Marlon Byrd days, and thank god for that.

Marlon Byrd was a monster for me in MVP 2004. He had like, 32 homeruns one year followed by 40 the next.
Doug Glanville was a different story.

Man, Sal Fasano seems like the coolest freaking guy ever. He's so laid back and just ... generally cool.
I mean, I'm not Italian or anything but I FEEL like one because of Sal Fasano and his quick connection to Philly, if that makes any sense...

Diagnosis on Rowand: broken nose. No word on a return timetable.

Diagnosis on Rowand: broken nose. No word on a return timetable. Thanks for the update. I mean, I knew like two hours ago that he was at the hospital, but thanks anyway.

Well obviously they took him to the hospital, but I hadn't seen the verdict postedyet, so I did.

Sal Fasano is a class act. I heard that he sent a whole bunch of pizzas up to his cheering section, "Sal's Pals." He fits in with the team just fine. Also, I figure Rowand will miss the weekend series and be ready to play mid-week. He's a tough cookie. If not, Victorino looks pretty damn good (except he's really ugly).

Robertson isn't going to likely even get an at bat. Victorino should be starting, and maybe Delluchi should get a start or two as well.
But Aaron Rowand's got balls...

Hamels is pitching a no-hitter through three innings against the Reds in his first-ever start. Three strikeouts and four walks ... the Phils are up 2-0.

Through four, still a no-hitter with five whiffs and as many walks. Superb performance from Cole. He's going to be an incredible pitcher very soon.

Six strikeouts but the no-hitter was broken up by Felipe Lopez on a blooper to center. Rowand would have had that.

Madson must have been pissed about moving to the pen. 1 inning and 2 runs ruins Hamels shot at a win...

Despite the five walks, Hamels was OUTSTANDING. He's got future ace written all over him.

That's what people thought when Gavin Floyd threw a gem in his first MLB game, and he's looked shaky ever since. As long as they don't send him back down if he has a couple bad starts, he should be alright...

Lieber's perfect through five. He has worked really quickly and thrown a lot of strikes. The Reds have only hit one ball hard and it was about 50 feet short of the wall. Our offense needs to pick him up though because he's bound to have a wacky inning sooner or later. Also, five innings in an hour!

His perfect game is shot, but we have a 1-0 lead and Lieber is still doing great. 89 pitches through seven innings is very impressive considering 67 of those are strikes! Lets hope our bats start hopping!

Nice line for Lieber. 8 and 2/3 innings pitched, with no runs. I think it's safe to say that he's recovered from the beginning of the year slump he was in...

Oh Boy! Brett Myers started out the game awesome as he pitched seven shutout innings. He got no run support until the eighth inning when a sick Ryan Howard came in to pinch hit. He hit a massive homerun and stayed in the game. Now, four innings later he strikes again with yet another huge homerun. An even more amazing note is that both were against left handed pitchers and he "can't hit lefties." We are up 2-1 and should be sending Flash in soon to end this one.
