Fantastic...don't know how many of you Americans care...but the Oilers came out strong tonight and cut the series deficit in half. A big 2-1 victory with Ryan Smyth getting the winner and Jussi Markkannen coming up huge.
Game 4 goes Monday...I know cooljay cares.

I didnt know you could just plow into the goalie and kick the puck into the goal...

that was definently a clean goal. He didn't plow into the goalie or kick it in. Smyth was just being the hard nosed player he is and going to the net hard. HUGE win for Edmonton

Man, that was a great game last night. I was pretty pissed when I realized the game was on NBC. When I turned to OLN, I thought "Oh maybe it's on in half an hour", but no, it wasn't, and I missed the first two goals because of it. But anyways, once again, Markaanan was not at fault. The defense played much better, but you need an offense (one that can convert on a powerplay, mind you) to win games, and Edmonton hasn't had one thus far...

The Oilers powerplay is just awful. Markaanan has played well, but I don't think Carolina will have much trouble winning game 5 at home.

Edmonton needed to win last night. I really don't think they will make it to game six. They gave it a good run though.

That win gave Carolina too much confidence, tomarrow they are gonna be layed back and lose. Then in game 6 they will be in shock and lose again. Then it comes down to game seven.

The sad thing is, Carolina can be laid back and still win. Edmonton has shown me little, with the exception of pieces of Game 3 and of course the first half of Game 1. Score more than one goal in a period, and maybe Edmonton can breath another day. But you seem to be a fan in denial...

I am wollowing in self-pity right now. I am an in an utter state of shock and disbelief at how bad they played last night. From the PP to defense, to the level of effort they just looked terrible. I mean how in the world did they think they were gouing to score if they didn't get shots on the net. Now dont get me wrong I am giving the Canes a ton of credit for completely nullifing everything we have done well up until thsi series but at some point dont the Oilers realize when enough is enough an just start banging some bodies and getting shots on net. If they continue to play this poorly I really honestly hope they lose and Carolina wins Game 5 at home.

It wasn't like Markkannen got barraged last night, only 20 shots I believe it was.

Did I say that he did? Cause I didn't think I did. All I was saying is that we need to be getting way more shots on the goal even if there r not of the highest quality. If pepper Ward with shots one or 2 are bound to go in.

That was the poorest execution on a power play that I have EVER seen. So much for the Cup.

Edmonton to win 2 or Carolina to win 1?....
Gotta go with the Canes.
