Now the series gets interesting. Taking Carolina in Edmonton seems a lot tougher to do now than it did for Games 3 and 4. I'm not going to make my pick yet, but regardless, I hope it's as exciting as Game 5 was...

Game 5 was awesome. Edmonton played great. They had to change their style and they did. Now we will see if they can play like that in Edmonton.

I never said you did either, it was just an observation. I wasn't even posting in response to you. its ok detroit i think he wasn't meaning to snap at you...hes jsut sad like any fan would be when his team came into a series knowing they were gonna lose after game 1 I didn't mean to make it sound like I snapped at him cause I didn't. Anyway at least I my team made it to the Finals instead of having to jump on the Canes' bandwagon like pretty much everyone on these boards.

But yeah, you should definitely be happy that your team got this far. It's still an incredible feat that you made it here as an 8 seed, facing the top Eastern Conference team (well technically 2nd, but Ottawa didn't have their starting goalie in the playoffs until they were pretty much dead) and keeping the series respectable. There's a lot of promise in Markaanan and Hemske (if he shoots) is going to be a star. Edmonton will be a force for the next several years if they play their cards straight...

Im with Mcgahee on this one...after the Wild didn't make playoffs, and the Sharks didn't get past the Oilers....I really didn't care anymore aboutt he Cup...I was hoping Buffalo woulda come in just cause the city needs the Cup...with the football follies and the hull goal the city deserves some good sports luck but after the Sabres left...I don't even watch the cups finals...game 5 was pretty much the most I watched the Finals and that was only to maybe see the cup being won..but it was only the last 2mins anyways and OT... im still Boycotting the Cup finals...I just want it to f-ing end already cause im tired of seeing those ugly a$$ red pants and Brind'Amour's face

Check out the first couple posts of a "Should I make this bet" thread, Oy, why would you make me remember that bet!!! I had the damn Canes and gave them away for a Canucks team that didn't make the playoffs and a Predators team that didn't make it past the 1st round!!! I guess I owe a "touche" to Carolina...

As exspected, Roloson isn't coming back. He skated today, and they're saying there is 0% chance of a return. It's all up to Juicce...

Put Gerber in net, then take everything said and planned for this game and do the exact opposite.

Oilers Checklist for Games 5 and 6
Score on a poweplay- Check (1 PPG in 5/ 2 PPGs in 6) Score more than one goal a period- Check (1st period in 5/ 2nd and 3rd period in 6) Slow down Carolina- Check (83+ minutes and counting that Carolina has been shutout. They've also had just 18 shots) Avoid Stupid Penalties- Kinda Check (Still have had 8 penalties in those last 83 minutes, but at least Carolina has taken more)
Edmonton did everything right. They did what they needed to do to force a Game 7. I'm banking on a 3-2 or 4-2 game (altough I haven't picked a team that wins yet) and that special teams will be the difference...

That win gave Carolina too much confidence, tomarrow they are gonna be layed back and lose. Then in game 6 they will be in shock and lose again. Then it comes down to game seven. Seriously

Carolina was far from "laid back"... their defense didn't match the same intensity from Edmonton's offense, but Carolina still did score 4 goals, which you don't do when you're laid back...
