Good stuff, it'll shut up all the LSU people around here telling me Saban was going to WVU.

Dont know if yall heard but Bill Stewart is the new coach for West VA. I saw some of the game last night and the guy looked like a popular person amond the players and staff...he was really pasionate and havin fun. I think this was a good hire for the Mountaineers, The same guy that fired a racial slur at a player while serving as HC of VMI?

Stewart seemed like a great guy, well loved by the WVU players.
I think he'll have moderate success, but I don't think he's going to be Rodriguez like.

Not really a coaching change but Central Michigan signed their coach to a two-year extension

Seems like he's got it together after the incident at VMI. This hire was probably intended in part to keep the recruiting class mostly intact - I can't blame them. However, I think Sparty's right...I don't see this guy having the success that RR had, at least immediately.

Actually I think it may be the opposite bearcat I think he will have immediate success considering he will have the best backfield in the nation if Slaton returns (which is likely). They'll have Devine, White, and Slaton back there carrying the rock.
So I think after this next year when White and Slaton leave you will see them slowly tail off into mediocrity. Honestly I dont think anyone in the nation could walk into a better one year situation than Stewart just did.

SMU has officially offered between 1.7 and 2 million a year to Hawaii's June Jones. SMU sucks, but money talks.

However, I think Devine can be what Slaton was and more. He's that good. And even if he does come back, he'll have to likely learn a new offense and get used to a fairly different coaching staff. Even though it seems like a good situation, first-year head coaches at this level struggle getting their programs going, especially a guy who was barely known as a candidate for the job before a few days ago.

I doubt the offense will change much they will probably stick with the same system as it is obviously working for them. I agree about Slaton but honestly another year would do him good.

FWIW, June Jones reportedly emailed his friends, saying he would be taking the SMU job.

With his attitude toward coaching, similar to Urban Meyer, I see him leaving. Strike while its hot and go for the turnaround. Oh and 2 million a year may sway him as well.

I'd be gone for 2 million a year in a heartbeat. You can only do so much at Hawaii, why not go to a school in the nation's most fertile recruiting state.
This is what Chris Speilman had to say when he went to Hawaii to broadcast the BSU-Hawaii game...
Can't blame him for leaving if it's that bad.

The Hawaii program has taken three steps back. They get a harder schedule next year but will lose some key players and their coach. Ouch.

Yeah we will be having a tough time this upcoming season..
-Tough schedule -New Coach, New System - 3 new WRs (Rivers, Bess and Hawthorne all gone) -Brennan gone. -June Jones gone. - Recruiting taking a huge hit.
this is definately a low/tough time for Hawai'i fans like myself.. I bet spartan is happy.

So those times where they were having two-win seasons and were called the Rainbow Warriors weren't tough or low times?
