I'm sure it's well noted on every other page of this thread, but Alexander Ovechkin is a monster. Hat trick in the the first period last night and then added a couple of assists to put the salt in the wound of Boston...
Sabres-Flyers tonight: Part IV... With the help of all the wagers I've made on this game, this is by far the most anticipated game for me all season...

Anyways, I get to see Ovech play this Saturday when the play the Bruins again in Boston. It's going to be sweet.

Flyers are fucking it up early today. Good because the Sabres are surging. 7-1 and 6-2 wins are a good way to show you're still in the race. Philly has a tough road to go with 2 each against the Isles, Rangers, Devils and Pens. Buffalo, meanwhile, we get the Leafs twice more as well as the Lightning sandwiched in between 2 with the Habs, Bruins and Sens. Should get real interesting down the stretch. And on the Pronger thing--the only reason he didn't get as many games as Simon is because he didn't have Simon's history. Still warranted 30 games. |

The Southeast Division is a disgrace to hockey... Carolina might have had the easiest schedule in the league. They're sub-.500 against non-division teams.
Terrible Teams+Terrible Markets=Terrible Division. Time to fix that Bettman!
Unless they face Ottawa or Boston I think they'll be done in 5 or less. Ottawa might need 6...

Honestly, I don't even really think about that disappointment in that we lost to Carolina that year, but how we ended up with 5 injured defense men and just lost our momentum. Plus the fact that there was no beating Cam Ward that summer... just no way. Carolina now though makes me wish the NHL adopted the NBA's playoff seeding policies...

Whats the difference? The NBA also guarantees home court to the division winners. As of now Utah is the fourth seed at 46-25 while Phoenix and San Antonio are both 47-23 and the 5/6 seeds.
And if it makes you feel better, Carolina was 3-1 vs Buffalo in the regular season anyway.

yeah would of beat the shit outta Roy's son if I was on the other team. There is no way he would done that without getting a serious beatdown. I wouldn't care if I got 20 games I would of smashed him. |
