9 game losing streak + Antero Nittymaki = Stay far, far away
Of course the fact that they score 1 mere goal on 40 some shots is an indicator that they had a very over-rated offense in the beginning of the season, and relied heavily on a lucky hot streak from Martin Biron to even get out of the gates as fast they did. It'll make my life if the Flyers finish 9th in the East this year, although I must say nothing can really top last year when the Leafs finished there and every Toronto fan was in tears for the fact that they wouldn't get to be swept by the Sabres in Round 1.

It makes me sad as well as I'm a huge fan, but honestly, I'd rather him go out as an impact player than a shell of what he was. And he was getting dangerously close to that thanks to all his injuries.

Wow...
The only thing funnier than Flyer fans thinking Forsberg would come back, lead them to the Cup but then realize he isn't coming back would be Flyer fans thinking he'd come back, lead them to the Cup, but then realize he didn't even come back to their sorry ass team. Maybe he made the decision beforehand, but I think he looked at how cold that team got and how they were without Gagne, Lupul, Hatcher, and Richards and realized if he wanted a playoff run, there'd be no way he could get one with Philly. The Avs aren't a gimme either, but with Stastny back now, it should be interesting to see how they fare...

Ha Hossa got hurt in his first game with the Pens. Brad Richards with 5 assists in his first game as a Star... crazy.
Detroit is ice cold and with the way Dallas is playing, they have a legitimate shot at making the pass for the #1 seed, which a month ago seemed like an impossible mountain to climb. Detroit is still up 3 points with 2 games in hand, so Dallas would really have to keep this torrid pace up for much of the remainder of the season and hope that Detroit stays as really just a .500 team
Despite Hossa's injury, as of right now I like the Pens in the East, and even though they aren't a team I much care for, I think hot goal tending will get Anaheim in fro the West. The East only has a handful of teams that I can legitimately see in the Cup, while the West probably has 9 teams that can all make deep playoff runs...
